A Tucson man was sentenced to 10 years probation after pleading guilty to voyeurism.
David Castro pleaded guilty to voyeurism and attempted voyeurism in Pima County Superior Court in connection with his November arrest.
Castro was seen on surveillance cameras at a department store in Tucson Mall attempting to film up the skirts of female shoppers.
Court documents say Castro had a cellphone hidden in a briefcase that he used to surreptitiously film the women.
Deputy Pima County Attorney Francis Kreamer Hope said Castro was found with numerous videos of women when he was arrested. Police also discovered he had uploaded the videos to websites.
He originally faced 16 counts of voyeurism.
Pima County Superior Court Judge Deborah Bernini said Castro had violated the privacy of an unknown number of women, many of whom have not been identified.
In addition to probation, Bernini ordered Castro attend sex-offender treatment.
The judge left open the option to have Castro register as a sex offender on the state registry.
Castro’s attorney, Adam Dippel, said his client recognizes he has a problem and has sought help.
